Q: For D-TR-72, what keeps the extended ramp in place/what prevents the ramp from collapsing when extended? Is there some kind of safety anti-retracting device on the unit? When it is retracted, how does it stay in place? Is there some kind of latch or pin to hold it in the retracted position?
A: It is held in place from friction and ground contact. These are used at such a gradual angle that when the lip is resting on the upper surface, and the bottom of the ramp is in contact with the ground. There is a plate welded to the underside of the top ramp, at the upper end of it, and then there's also a plate welded to the TOP of bottom ramp section, at the lower end of it. This will prevent the two ramps from overextending/coming apart.
